Redlands FUMC is truly my home church. I was raised, baptized, confirmed and married here. By the time I was in junior high I was teaching Sunday School in the rooms which are now the nursery. I sang in the children’s choirs, played in the handbell choir and participated in youth group activities. Once I entered college, I served on staff at a number of United Methodist Church camps and on the steering committee for the Young People’s Convention.
My husband, Rob, and I have raised three of my very favorite people, our children, Robby, Andrew and Amanda. You will often see them around the church, helping with many of our children’s events such as Messy Church, Vacation Bible School, the Epworth Academy of Fine Arts, Family Nights and Christmas programs.
I’ve worked with children my entire adult life. As an elementary school teacher for 22 years, I taught everything from kindergarten through fourth grade. I have always been interested in the children who don’t quite fit the traditional mold so I’ve spent a lot of time working with disadvantaged and struggling students as well as those in gifted education programs.
It’s a pleasure to work at RFUMC and have the flexibility to create a variety of experiences that nurture and affirm our church’s children as they grow in faith. Your children will find a warm welcome here. Try out our Children’s Sunday School, Messy Church, or Vacation Bible School. You’ll be glad you did!
